3 Ways to Respond to the "Pyramid SCheme" Objection

"Is it one of those Pyramid Schemes?" Did you know back in the day when McDonald's decided to start franchising their business, people said that it was a total Pyramid Scheme? Can you believe that? Now McDonald's is one of, if not the largest fast food restaurant IN THE WORLD. In reality, that is what network marketing is! There is the corporation and for a startup fee and agreement to represent that corporation per their guidelines, you're able to market the business in your area. Except you in turn can also "franchise" to others.

Some people will react with fear when it comes to something they don't know about. You can't take it personal. It's their ignorance on the industry or perhaps they or someone they know had a bad experience in the past. Don't fall into a debate on this subject. Here's 3 ways to respond if you get this objection.

1. Ask for Clarification

If they ask if it's a pyramid scheme, you can respond with, "hmmm. Interesting. Why do you say that?" This helps open up the conversation, you can see things in their point of view, and it gives you a chance to answer any questions and clarify things.

2. Respond Confidently

Another approach is to say, "No way! Pyramid Schemes are illegal!" And yes, they are. If they ask how yours is not, you have the history of your company that it's legit PLUS you offer a service and/or product(s)! A Pyramid Scheme does not. Often times this proclamation will surprise your prospect and have them drop that thought out of their mind fast! lol!

3. Take Away The Opportunity

At the end of the day, don't waste your breath on someone who is not open minded or willing to hear you out. You don't need that negative energy in your life. If they're combating you over this already, imagine how they will be as your downline? Eff that. Just reply with, "you know what? I see that this is not a great fit you. But hey, if you or anyone you know is looking to make extra money, let me know."
